The usual apprehension.

A special thanks to Dominic who linked me to his blog, it was an unexpected surprise. =)
Coming monday will be my first official try at vehicles and I'll be staying over at Sembawang Camp for 5 weeks to pursue a Class 4 military driving license. The events that will unfold, as usual, would take over the routine life I previously had and I'm a bit worried about the next 5 weeks. Being a failure in highway code, is it possible for me to pass on the second day of course ? But after the pre-course brief and the interaction with instructors, I'm confident that they are professionals that are the epitome of efficiency. I can see that SAF's dedication to produce safe drivers is utterly strong, through their exorbitant simulators, computer-based learning equipment and strict selection of instructors, it is already very clear.
To my fellow brothers in TAB, I wish you all the very best in your OJT and postings and really hope to see you guys in good shape and still gel-led as one.

The man behind Parkview Square.

For those of you who pass by Bugis junction, it's hard to miss the Gothic building that reminds you of Batman serials. Yes, it's Parkview Square. And the man behind it was featured today in Lian He Zao Bao. I'm very impressed and utterly respect him for his altruistic deeds in his life. One of the most recent ones was about the Jiang Su China workers who were cheated of their money. His personal assistant contacted the reporter and during the meeting, the reporter was astonished to see such a gargantuan amount of money in front of him. 200 over thousand dollars it was. Just as the foreign workers were about to depart from SG with a heavy and emotionally-laden heart, they each received a red packet with about SGD$4000 in it at the airport. Bet you'll be lost for words if you're them, some even wanted to cry. Their benefactor probably still remains as mysterious as ever that's because he never wanted publicity. Recently, Mr Huang Zhou Xuan departed and many lament the lost of such a great man, but what he left will be a legacy and he will be a role model for many of us.

Milk and Weight.

http://content.health.msn.com/content/article/85/98720.htm
When Candace told me that Milk makes me thin, it wasn't convincing. Now I'm impressed by her knowledge again. Taking a look at my P1 photo, yea, I was really thin and a heavy milkaholic (1 L per day). I've grown a wee bit fatter in the military service, maybe it's the lack of milk or could it be the 9 slices of bread serving that I easily swallow down every morning? It's just too complex to fathom. Might be the PT there. Maybe maybe............

You know.... I've been waking up late these days, one of the bad habits modern Singaporeans have. And when the time to book in at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow comes, I just wished SG had an environment that makes people sleep at 2230hrs and wake up at 0545hrs, at least people won't be late. Too bad, we are wired to our friends who are active deep in the night which explains my sleeping patterns lately.
May there be a taxi when I step on the road.

Reflecting back.

4 more days to POP. Never realised that this course can feel so short. Outfield exercises, like what they say, really are enjoyable and passes quickly. These 3 months taught me a lot of things spanning from social skills to personal improvement. I'm glad that the mindset I had during my JC days is slowly restoring. Maybe it did not. Maybe it's something new or modified. Physical endurance has dramatically increased i.e. pump me lah ! Heh.
This is just a short entry so the ideas here will be in bits and pieces, for those who know me well enough, you know how to link it up.
I'll definitely miss the nights in my bunk with Dominic, Alvin, Weijun, Balvinder, Zhiguang, David and of course, Chua Yeow Keng. Haha. The nights where we laugh till we sleep are numbered. Frankly speaking, this is a rare experience where you can practically laugh every night and then fall asleep. We entertain each other with our own brand of jokes ranging from 'jeeploc' bags to 'tree' dollars. To enhance the effect, we have sporting recipients of the joke no matter how embarrassing. It really is complimenting when people come into your bunk and say, " hey, your bunk is really happening, man. ". Once in a while, we have soccer matches and sparring, re-enactment of Mr Bean, imitation of Philippino Maids and fellow bunk mates. Minor punishments like pumping and prata has gel-ed most of us together as we manage to still break out into laughter when heavily punished, though we get even more of the sgts' wrath. One of the main joy generators would be Dominic and whoever his future bunkmates may be would greatly benefit from him. Apart from the happy times, some in the bunk remain rather uncooperative but that doesn't really matter, they still become the butt of the joke (that's our culture. =) ).
My health currently looks set to be sliding down soon, I predict that I'll have a fever within the coming week. =
