Inspiration & Randy Pausch

BBC RSS feeds are always providing me with the best headlines of each day and today was exceptionally splendid.

The late Prof Randy Pausch from Carnegie Mellon gave his last lecture and boy it was really inspirational.

He talks about his childhood dreams, obstacles and his fun-filled academic life. Now i'm not really good with words, but you need to watch it to experience this inspiring video instead of this boring synopsis.

And here it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo

Enjoy!

Now let me digress to a little chat with my fellow teacher aides.
MF was talking about how the social circle drastically shrinks after undergrad years and why FYP is named as it is.

=> Find Your Partner project.

Cos you ain't gonna have large pools of friends to meet or bump into anymore
The only females you'll see most of the time are those in your lab, if there's any (sorry Physics, lol)
And gosh, you're like ... 25 (for guys... 21 for girls).

Which brings me to the next point/conjecture.... does that explain for the single researchers that I've recently heard about?

Maybe one should consider getting married/attached before embarking for post-grad. lol
